"To be interested in the changing seasons is a happier state of mind than to
be hopelessly in love with spring."

Creativity Exercise

Layering

My contest and HeartMate excerpt deal with cloisonne this month. And to compliment that, the Artist Exercise has to do with layering.

Some writers will first write dialogue, then character reaction, then choreography
(action/movement), then setting. Bakers, pastry chefs and painters know all
about layering!

For those of you who DO NOT layer (and I'm one of these), in your work start
first with one simple layer, then build upon it. Dance, act, write, tatt with one layer
then add until your art is multi-facetted.

For those of you who DO layer, don't. Create one piece of art in one sitting. If you collage or shadow box, try just one item—no background, no layers, see how simple you can get.

Affirmation

I feel the creative energy every day and can shape it as I please for simple or complex projects.
